32 years ago, in 1992. Three girls, TAEKO, YUI, and SHIGEMI interrogate SANA on the rooftop of their middle school. A strong gust of wind blows Shigemi to the edge of the rooftop and Sana grabs her hand. She asks to hear Shigemi’s “final sound,” then lets go of her hand.
